Welcome to Respect Life

On behalf of our pastor, the other priests serving in our parish and our entire parish family, I wish to welcome you to the Respect Life Ministry at St. Luke's.

We are under the direct supervision and guidance of our Pastor in conjuntion with the Bishop of the Diocese of St. Petersburg, the Florida Catholic Conference of Bishops and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Pro-Life Committee.

Supporting His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, we embrace the "Culture of Life" and the truth that our church teaches that all life is sacred from conception to natural death.  The topics addressed in Respect Life are very extensive from abortion, cloning, stem cell research, natural family planning, chastity, euthanasia, suicide, capital punishment, social justice and quality care for the aged, sick and dying.  Ask at the parish office to receive our parish Respect Life brochure.

We produce a parish newsletter quarterly that covers the above topics more in detail at specific times throughout the year.  We provide education and awareness on these issues and promote peaceful action.  If you missed any of our newsletters, please contact the parish office and we will get them to you.

One of the most powerful tools we have is prayer and I encourage you to go to our link on Pro-life prayers, pray the Rosary daily and recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet.  We can provide you with pamphlets on how to say the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet if you let us know.

Needing help on a problem pregnancy or post abortion healing?  Our Pregnancy Link will direct you to some helpful resources.

Last, but not least, would you like to be part of the Respect Life Ministry, but can't make a big commitment?  Well, checkout our Telephone/E-mail Tree Link.  It's a terrific way to make a BIG difference without much effort.

I strongly encourage you to checkout all of the information presented here and look into the other related links listed.  There is phenomenal information available from the Diocesan website and other sites shown.  Let me know what issue interests you and I will be happy to help you with resources.  If you know of anyone without a computer, let me know, I will be happy to get brochures, referral sources or download and copy material for them.

May God bless you all and remember to keep us in your prayers!
