Deacon Joe has been a member of St. Luke the Evangelist since 2004.
Prior to his retirement he served the parish by sponsoring RCIA and "That Man is You" men's programs, leading prayers at parishioner's wakes and assisting the priest on the altar.
Although retired Deacon Joe offers Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament after Mass on Wednesdays and will occasionally deliver a homily.
His advice to fellow parishioners, " don't let the obstacle of age keep you from getting involved in the parish."
