Parish Hall Building Fund

The construction of the new Community Hall is well underway but continued support is needed.

The floor plan below shows a gathering hall that can accommodate up to 300 people. The hall will have a full kitchen, restroom facilities, storage and two conference rooms equipped with state-of-the art audio visual equipment. It will provide much needed meeting space and will be a building we can all be proud of!

In the meantime, work continues and costs increase. Fortunately thanks to Fr. Paul's fiscal management and cost-containment programs, many repairs and improvements have been undertaken during his tenure and completed without the need of a formal pledge drive. However given the age of the parish, we can not afford to impact the operating reserves needed for day-to-day expenses. This fact has delayed the Community Hall's completion date but only for the short term, provided we have everyone's support.

How do we help without a formal pledge drive?

The plan is simple, it calls for each of us to prayerfully consider what portion of our household income we can consistently offer, weekly, monthly or as an annual gift and be faithful to it. Our added gifts to APA and to St. Luke's Building Fund are also important commitments, in that our contributions help ensure the goals of the Diocese and parish.

The good news is contributions to the building fund will not be assessed for tithing by the Diocese, as the Bishop has granted a temporary exemption. All monies earmarked for the building fund will be utilized by St. Luke and will not increase next year's APA assessment for the parish!

Also for those who have inquired, the continuing renovations in the church and the construction of the new building offers an excellent opportunity for people to name selected portions of the Community Hall, Ministry Building, St. Clare, the Church building and some of the Hall’s equipment as a remembrance for a loved one or as a lasting testament.

The names of donors will be listed on a plaque in each location as well as appearing on a consolidated plaque in the Church building. In Church publications these room names will be used in identifying the location of events (e.g. the Knights will be meeting in the Smith room at 7PM). Depending on which memorial is selected, donations and pledges can be made over several years.
